I’ve had my iPad 2 for about 2 weeks now, and like most people have looked at what iPad 2 accessories are around, and the one thing I’ve been specifically looking for is a really good quality, lightweight iPad 2 case which works with the iPad 2′s Smart Cover. The Smart Cover is great, but doesn’t provide any good back protection, so there is always the chance that your iPad 2 might get scratched. Fortunately Cool Bananas, who make some amazing iPad cases and MacBook Cases, in awesome colours, and I’ve got myself a Cool Bananas iPad 2 Case from GearZap.com to review today.
The Cool Bananas SmartShell for iPad 2 is available in several different colours including green, clear, blue, black and the red which I have to review shown above. The case is make from a slightly flexible rubber like material which acts like a tough iPad 2 skin, giving great protection for the back and edges of your iPad. The case has cuts outs which give you fully, unobstructed access to the connections, power buttons, volume buttons and home button on the iPad.
As you can see from the above image, the iPad 2 cover has a smart looking Cool Bananas logo at the bottom of the back, just above the connection port. The side has been removed, to allow your Smart Cover to attach to it easily, and the two work in perfect harmony, giving the full protection that the Smart Case on its own lacks.
