When we got the opportunity to review the new Cello iViewer we literally jumped at the chance, since this has been one of the most talked about product launches in the recent past. It was a truly exciting prospect and the iViewer most definitely did not disappoint and lived up to every bit of the hype that surrounded it.
What is the iViewer?
The Cello iViewer is a device that is basically a regular television that has the ability to display Internet content. This means that you can follow some of your favourite Internet channels from your television. Also, all this can be achieved without any additional set top box or plug-in.
Why is the iViewer from Cello so special?
The iViewer has a number of distinguishing features which makes it a really good buy. In this section we will take a close look at some of the specifications of this television.
First and foremost, the iViewer supports the High Definition TV format, and provides excellent picture quality. In addition to this, the iViewer Television has stereo sound and MHEG5 technology for some stupendous sound.
The iViewer also has the ability to use a USB device with two USB sockets, a wi-fi adapter, scart sockets, a VGA and stereo jack and a couple of HDMI slots. The television adapts to a number of different systems including BG, Pal-I and Secam.
When we were using this television, we discovered other small yet nifty features like accessing our PC through the iViewer and using it as a monitor (and a high resolution monitor at that!)
Watching Internet Channels on the iViewer
To access internet channels on the iViewer, you can either use a regular Ethernet cable, or you can use a wi-fi dongle (the wi-fi dongle was included in the 32” iViewer package we were sent and it worked seamlessly with our encrypted wifi).
The main difference between the iViewer and any other television is of course the ability to watch Internet channels on a flat screen HDTV without any add-ons. It is thanks to this feature that the Cello iViewer has become one of the most talked about televisions in the UK. It has truly revolutionized the way people look at television.
If you are using the iViewer with a broadband connection you will have be able to directly access YouTube, Disney Movies, Autocar Magazine, Movie Rush, CNN, Sky Sports, Jamie’s Ministry of Food, Diggnation and a number of other podcasts. The biggest draw to this gadget however is BBC’s world famous iPlayer.

When you choose to buy yourself a Cello iViewer television, you have two separate options that you can choose from. Almost all the features are the same in both the models. The difference between the two lies in the size. We chose to test the 32” version of the iViewer since it incorporated a full HD feature at 1080 pixels. The other option available is the 26” model, which is HD ready.
The iViewer is signals a new age for Television
Some people we know are sceptical about buying themselves a Cello television, because there were some issues with the quality of the LCD screen in the past. With the iViewer however, we can’t see there being such complaints. It has a neat design with a excellent quality screen, making it a very appealing buy.
Conclusion: A brilliant television irresistible to technology lovers!
The more we see of the Cello iViewer, the more we seem to like it. Not only is the picture and sound quality superb, but this set also allows you to watch a number of Internet channels; this makes it irresistible to anyone who loves new technology and watching television. With a number of excitingly different features, we believe that the iViewer from Cello Viewer is going to be a huge hit on the market.
