If you don’t want to shell out the expensive £50 that Amazon are commanding for their Kindle Lighted Case, then you might have looked around for an alternative light to add on to your favourite Kindle Cover, and if you’ve done so, then you might have come across a mention of the extremely popular Kandle Kindle Light. Here’s my quick review of the product. The Kandle Kinde light is available for sale 1t 14.95, which seems a fair price for a light, although of course there are always cheap versions of everything available on ebay. The Kandle has been designed to fit a wide range of e-readers and tablets, but brilliantly fits the Kindle 3 perfectly, providing a snug and secure hold on the top of the Kindle.
The light is an extremely useful one, and overcomes a problem that many owners of the Kindle are well aware of, it’s almost impossible to read it in the dark, as the e-ink isn’t backlit. So many people have been looking for an external light to solve their problems.
The Kandle might just squeeze onto the top of a kindle case if you had one, but it would be touch and go. The light has a grip which holds it firmly in place, and the head of the light is fully adjustable, which creates the right reading angle for you, without creating a horrible glare or reflection on your screen. The light is also directional enough that it doesn’t light up the whole room, which would obviously defeat the purpose of the kindle light, as you could just turn on your room light.
The Kandle also neatly folds down, into a relatively compact bundle which can be carried around, although of course it’s a big of a nuisance, but would easily fit inside a laptop case, or laptop bag if you were to need to carry it around with you.
Conclusion
The Kandle is a great light for the Kindle, and at £14.95 it’s a fair price. It comes with a neat carry pouch, and requires 4 small batteries which are easy to come by. The batteries last for around 30 hours, which is very respectable. Overall this is a great light, and one I’d recommend you buy
